Spreads of 7.5, 7.5, 7.5, 10.5. It seems like some of the teams may not be that elite

I’d bet on Texas and Georgia meeting for the third time.

I’m just sad it’s Indiana Norte Dame in the first round- those are the teams I was looking forward to betting on against

Imagine sending this bracket back in time to the 2015 or 2012 version of yourself. Parts of it would look very plausible - but Indiana? SMU? Arizona State? No Alabama?

I’ve said for several months that SMU is perhaps the biggest winner in this round of realignment.

I think the bottom feeder state flagships in the ACC will be the winners in the next round. Indiana and Penn State’s path this year make UVA and UNC much more valuable to the SEC than teams that might win games

Wow, UNC hired Bill Belichick as head football coach. What a disaster this is going to be.

I could see it being a disaster, but for someone NFL bound, it’s like playing for Saban.

Edit, Mike Lombardi is coming in as the GM- this is going to hilariously bad

Gronk, Edelman, and Brady, during Fox's Sunday show, making fun of him potentially coaching at UNC was pure gold.

 Gives new meaning to "UNCheat."

Edited to add: In all seriousness, I think that hiring shows UNC (and Belichick) recognizing that the traditional college sports model is gone. Essentially, Belichick plans to treat it like a pro franchise—someone will get him the players either via recruiting or via the transfer portal and he'll coach the team. He doesn't have to build relationships with players, their families, or high school coaches. This is, in a sense, the flip side of Tony Bennett retiring from UVA basketball and saying that he's not suited for the new world of college sports.

The problem is that he brought in a terrible GM. He's making noise about bringing back the old gang and hiring Patricia. College playbooks are more innovative than NFL; I'd have faith that Belichick could thrive, but Patricia is an awful coach- does anyone remember when he was OC?

Yeah, I didn't mean to imply that I think he's certain to be a success. I probably could have worded my comment better. While I think the point that the traditional college sports model is gone and that this hiring recognizes that is valid, what I was trying to say—and didn't say very well—is that this is going to be an interesting experiment and reflects what's probably going to be one of the first schools, if not the first school, to attempt to implement a new model in this new world. Certainly it's going to be very interesting to see how it turns out.

I could see a program like SMU having great success with that sort of new model because of their universe of exceptionally wealthy donors. Put differently, they were very successful at paying the players when it was against the rules to do so!

The Eagles defense just quit on Patricia last season. No one likes him. Terrible idea.

I kind of like Bill on TV.  Shame he is going back to coaching.  I assume the 24 year old girlfriend told him he had too much time on his hands.

I imagine he could tell any recruit's parents, "I know how to prepare your son for the NFL success" and that will be enough.

As for innovative offense, BB is pretty imaginative.

The Patricia stuff is a "hmmm" but Steve B is a good hire.

Remember the last offense he coached? I think it will work if he’s hands on. If he takes the CEO approach, he’ll need to get better assistants than his usual band of idiots

LOL.  College playbooks are absolute garbage.  Flash cards and zero audibles.

Good thing they don't have a canine for a mascot...

Wonder if he'll have his brother, The Hamburglar, on his staff...
