the non-backcourt at the end was key, even if correct. Would have been something if the alley oop to KP had worked at the end.

I don't like the Celts getting banged up. i'd rather it be over.

Not a zero chance that we've seen the last of LeBron.

Pop is stepping down as head coach, will transition to head of the Spurs' basketball operations. End of an incredible era.

Knicks overcame a  20 point deficit in the 3rd, 9 at the start of the 4th, to win in OT. Anunoby had a great game, while Brunson did Brunson things. Tight D in OT. Celts had 45 missed 3-point attempts. All the Celts regular rotation suited up for the game, though Brown wasn't jumping well and KP did KP things (miss time after getting hurt). The Celts tried to stop Brunson with Holliday, but the Knicks repeatedly had the big Horford was covering set a screen on Holliday to get Horford on Brunson. Eventually, the Celts had White drop off the guy he was covering so he could stay in a the middle of the key to be available to help.

The best player in the Denver series won the game. That’s not really an upset in playoff basketball

ESPN:
Quote
Since 1997-98, teams are 3-1,640 when trailing by 7+ in the final minute of the 4th quarter/OT.

The Pacers this postseason account for 2 of those wins 🔥

Jason Tatum hurt. Might be Achilles. Couldn’t put any weight on his leg as he was carried off the court.

Different NBA teams are playing different sports. Some teams are competing for titles, other teams are the Washington generals.

ruptured achilles. had "successful" surgery today. You are right: may miss next year.

path was certainly open for the Celts to repeat but, even before the Tatum injury, you have to hand it to the Knicks for taking it taking it away from them.

Mavricks let Brunson leave, trade Luca, and will probably be a playoff team next year.

was Brunson traded for Porzingas, or did he leave as a free agent (or another deal)?

he signed a FA deal with the Knicks prior to the 2022-3 season. IIRC, the Mavericks low-balled him.  He signed an extension with the Knicks last year.

Free agent. The Mavs said no when he requested what in hindsight would have been a far below market deal before the season.  I think I’m done with the NBA, this is two years in a row the number 1 pick goes to a playoff team. Even the hope that comes with rooting for a bottom feeder is gone. The two teams who made the dumbest decisions this year- the mavs and the sixers who both signed George and extended embid aren’t even going to have to go through rebuilds- the sport is just broken
