Jimmer Fredette and Rick Barry’s son Canyon on the USA 3x3 team. Ex NBA player Chase Budinger playing beach volleyball. It’s good to be tall.

not sure they'll have it on free tv here. Sounds like it was a good one from Velonews. and the USA can be happy with its highest placing ever, too

Rightly being regarded as one of the great Olympic cycle races.

Have to live the NBC coverage of the women’s gymnastics. They only show the Americans. And ladies from other countries when they mess up.

Jimmer went into the Olympics as the top ranked 3x3 basketball player in the entire world. Since then, his 3x3 team has gone 0-2 with two pretty humiliating losses.

I admit that the fact that we're still talking about Jimmer in 2024 is impressive and I wouldn't have guessed he would continue to be a thing this long. But this looks like the end.

Simone is the GOAT. Time for ESPN to reevaluate its top 100 of the 21st century.

What's with the cables attached to the fencers' waists?  I hadn't noticed those in previous games.

I think they electronically record touches.

As for the men's cycling road race, the picture of the winner holding his bike up at the finish like in front of the Eiffel Tower is going to be a classic.

Also, slight spoiler time, but got to believe Visma was a bit pleased with LaPorte's medal, Jorgenson driving the chase, and Tratnik getting into the chase pack. Was a given that LaPorte was medaling once he and Jorgenson formed the chase. Just a question of whether they caught the rider immediately ahead of them, opening up one other slot on the podium. Great result for France, and of course, Belgium and the US

If you missed it, France v Argentina (men's soccer) had an interesting ending... ;)

Djokovic isn't done yet. So far the GOATs are doing GOAT things.

He’s happy it was only best of three.

I really expected Vos to chase her down before the last corner...but she basically just folded.

Least deserved bronze ever. Just remember that almost out of bounds is out of bounds if you're Romanian going up against Americans

I think had there been 2 chasers, the race would have been on, but with 3 chasers, they all did not want to pull through because the others would have sat on wheels and beat the chaser in the sprint. Literally, Vas started after Faulkner but stopped pedaling when Kopecky and Vos wouldn't pull through. Kopecky mostly wheel-sucked the whole last climb and most of the chase by Faulkner. Faulkner's move would not have worked had there been a second Belgian or Dutch rider.

Watched some wall climbing on the plane this morning. Had no idea that was a sport in the Olympics. Guys move like Spider-Men. Also some Greco Roman wrestling.  Don’t touch this legs.
