Rizzo asked if the team will take a quick to the majors player to match current players time lines and dodges q (smart)

Also asked about best player available or good player / mlb likely that leaves a bit of  money for other signings and he says his preference is best player but will want to hear from Haas.

Says he does not like to focus on one guy too early (after drafting Justin Upton, Stras, and Harper with his previous 1/1 picks).

Jace is quickest to the majors and gives us an insane OF

Ethan is the best overall prospect

Gotta think it’s Holliday.

Can’t take Bremner or Arnold #1. You can only take a pitcher 1-1 if it’s a strasburg, Skenes, coke level talent. Too risky otherwise.  LaViollete has a 45 hit tool per mlb.com.  Largely driven by a huge 25% in zone swing and miss rate. Idk if that’s fixable. If he can get that corrected this season then maybe… but you can’t take aaa OF 1-1 with below average projected contact skills, especially when there’s an infielder who projects for average contact, similar power, and the ability to stay on the dirt.

Holliday might have that swing rate by A ball. He's a HSer. Very little projects

but if everything works, can push CJ aside or move House to 1st.

Completely different players. Moniak was a slappy center fielder who some projected for 25 homer power if he filled out and developed.

Holliday HAS power. It’s just a matter of proving he can get to it against pro competition

There's an entire HS/college season before this decision must be made.

Preller better be out there scouting 14 year olds to trade for them in 7 years.
