Any rum drinkers out there?


I’ve always been partial to Myers Dark, but while in Canada I just discovered Lamb’s Navy Dark. Amazingly smooth.


Screech is the famous rum preferred by Newfoundlers to Screech-In newbies (a ceremony which involves shots of Screech rum and kissing a cod, after which one is considered to be an honorary Newfoundlander). It was OK, but I found it a trifle harsh.

I don’t buy liquor very often anymore because we seldom keep any in the house. But if I buy rum for a purpose other than use in a recipe, I really like Ron Zacapa Centenario, served in a snifter. Fabulous stuff. It’s like a fine cognac.

I declined the cod. Took the rum, but declined the cod, so I’m not officially Screeched-In.  8)

I know spidernat was a big proponent of Flor de Cana, you should give that a shot!
