Who the freak is like, well, I would have gone to his debut, but now Im not because it was three days ago in Florida. Like that is the dumbest logic.

All the team is doing is confirming they arent actually competing.

Chill, it's only three games and with all the anticipation for his arrival it is a nice perk for the fans, especially the season ticket holders, to be able to attend a game with added excitement.

Only the really dense or naive thought the team was competing this year. Have a few extra ticket sales.  Crews later this year maybe. House next year. Have Cavalli Corning back at some point also. Some hope.

I
Elly would be a platoon bat if he were a corner OFer.
OPs+ of 128 is fine with me.

Same people who sell out home openers when the team has already been playing for a week on the road.

Hold on, if Winker is taking balls at first, then that means Rosario is staying

So this is the one time it's legitimate to say 'Nats get Wood...' :rimshot:   ;)

not necessarily. It could just be to give Meneses some games off. I gotta hope that Winker becomes the everyday DH once Wood arrives.

Wonder if Winker’s injury changes this plan…

Probably just call up Lipscomb so they can play Vargas every day

Where is he going to play? LF or RF? I'm guessing not CF.

He’s played mostly LF as of late. He’s out of the lineup again today.

Keep him in LF. Winker to DH with Ramirez. Rosario DFA.

Super stoked for tonight's game. I think it's a bit overdue but I'm excited to see the start of the next championship window opening

That's Rizzo-speak.  There is no such thing as a championship window, just cheap owners and a GM serving as their PR front.

But yes, this is an exciting day either way.

Im just excited that you'll now be able to work prospect status into complaining about why players are getting playing time.

I'm excited for a player actually deserving playing time, unlike Nunez, Corbin, Keibert, and the Lerner/Rizzo cast of has beens and never weres..

In the minors Wood had a high OBP. It was nice to see him work the count for the most part last night.

And against lefties.  I think an OPS above .750 would be a great start for this season, but just having someone who can make the pitcher work is a benefit, especially with the league having figured out how to throw out the Nats' baserunners during steal attempts.

He should have been credited with a hit on the reach on an error.
