Washington Wizards (2024-25)
« Topic Start: June 22, 2024, 11:00:48 AM »
The consensus among the pundits is that the Wizards locked into Alex Sarr at #2.

Seems like Daniel Gafford 2.0?

Sweet, another French guy (I actually hope we get Sarr, but I still think it’s hilarious that we’ll get French guys two years in a row, just not the right French guy)

can we get him to at least enroll in LSU so that Washington team can take 3 guys from LSU with the #2 pick in 3 different sports within 1 year?

Whatever he is capable of being, I have confidence that Wizards coaching and management will prevent it from occurring here

Last time the Wizards had two first round picks they drafted Jan Vesely and Chris Singleton.  :hysterical: :hysterical: :hysterical:

The more I read about Sar, the more I think Vesely. He keeps moving down a level of competition every year and still can’t get minutes. I come around on the idea of just taking Sheppard - at least he can shoot

Wiz trade Deni to Portland for the 14th overall pick , Malcom brogdon, and a 2029 first rounder

I think that’s smart. Get younger players. Deni is ok but he will start to earn more than he’s really worth.

Let’s hope Giannis wants a change of scenery and Portland continue to suck. I don’t think there is anyone one this team that I wouldn’t trade for a future first- so I’m happy

that's a nice return. Brogdon can be flipped, too. Wasn't he 6th man of the year last year when he was with the Celts?

Brogdon is totally washed up with one of the worst contract in basketball.    Stupid trade by the Wizards

With all the media hype, I thought this young lady Miss Clark was sure to be the #1 pick.

he’s not likely to stick around. They wanted the draft pick. Two project / high ceiling guys for the Wiz

I don’t think you understand how this works. They are tanking again this coming season. Trying to build a core of young players. The guy they just drafted with the 14 pick they got in the trade will likely be as good as Deni. They took Brogdon to get the picks. He’s irrelevant other than as a mentor to young players.

They need to move Kuzma.  No reason for him to be here anymore.

Have to get a veteran in n return probably to stay above the salary floor. I think you just keep him now and see what you can get at the deadline. He doesn’t play the same position as either of the guys drafted so far tonight. But he did basically play the same position as Deni.

I’m just happy we got a guy named Bub. Need to get Ace Bailey next year.

If you’re below the floor, the team splits the difference. The guys on rookie deals would probably happily forgo veteran leadership for their share

Depends what you can get. Maybe get more at the deadline? Kuzma doesn’t seem like a bad guy.  Don’t think he would be a bad influence on anyone. Except maybe his clothes choices.

Paulsen:
Quote
The Wizards traded up from 26 to 24 to make their third and final pick in the first round.

Kyshawn George rounds out the Wizards' first round trio. 6-8, 20-year-old with a 6-11 wing span. Shot a ton of threes (68% of his shots).

So they've got their center, PG, and a SG of the future to put with Bilal.

Don’t know much about George. Will have to trust our front office I guess. Wonder what we gave up.
