they may not win again this season. Greg Finberg posted their next 15 games or so and there is no team that they are likely to beat unless they get lucky and catch someone sleeping.

Wiz were 16-84 heading into tonight’s game over their last 100. Now 16-85

Good loss.

Where did Justin Champaigne come from.  Seems to be putting up good numbers. Is he legit?

So we have two French nationals and another dude with a French name. Oui oui.

I watched the 2d half. Lots to like but lots of room for growth. No Poole, no Kuzma, Saar outmatched physically by KAT, but nice passing, good shooting, some decent depth. Brogdon should get something good in trade. Really versatile and steadying.  Lets see Champagnie put up a few more games like that before the coronation but he had a great game. Nice distributed scoring. Coulibaly looks good, but he needed to be more aggressive and just look for his shot at the end regulation rather than pass first and then force up something off balance when he ended up not having a passing lane.

We must be watching different games. Nothing about that team screams eastern conference finals or even playoffs in three years. I’d be really surprised if anyone currently on the Wizards ever starts for a championship team

eastern conference finals is a tall task. I mean, I'm not sure Embiid made the Eastern finals. As for playoffs, I think they could be top 6 in the east in that time frame. Coulibaly doesn't look like a wasted pick. Carrington is awful young but shows something. Sarr has skills. Maybe it's just because I caught a game where the depth looked good.

This is an awful lot of crappy basketball to endure if a top 6 seed is the goal, half assed free agent signing could accomplish that with much less losing. Coulibaly is a role player at best on a decent team, same with Sarr

well, you shifted the goal posts from "nothing about that teams screams ... even playoffs in three years." I'm not even counting surviving the play-in round as the playoffs. having Brogdon healthy is a nice veteran presence at least until he's flipped. As for Coulibaly and Sarr, they are still projects, but not every high lottery pick is an instant star. [warning - Celtics reference coming] You'd have said the same thing about Jaylen Brown at a similar stage in his career.

Yea. You just need to let the young guys play. I read that Sarr’s three point shooting is improving.  Also George and Carrington seem like they could be decent pieces. And should be adding someone good this draft.

It’s year two of the tank. No one has said a six seed is the goal. You’ve already given up on a second year player and three rookies and discounted who we get the 2026 draft.  It’s ok. Years of mediocrity have you longing for that again.

Were decades into tanking. 47 years removed form a championship. 46 years since a 50 win season, 46 years from the finals. 8 years since they even made it out of the first round

The team that had Beal and Russ, and ultimately traded for Kuzma, was not tanking.

In a sport where not making the playoffs requires effort, they managed it more years than not

True, but the tanking wasn't intentional until last season.

This is really weak. You complained that they were striving for mediocrity for years which was true. So they fired the GM and hired a new group that’s doing what you called for.  And now you complain about that. They are likely to get a one or two pick again this year in what is supposed to be a good draft. Give it some time. Need at least three years and you know fve tank didn’t start until last season.

I’m going to complain until they actually have something to cheer for. For a tanking team they have remarkably little draft capital and no one worth building around.
