Could you imagine the reaction if the transactions tonight read:

Victor Robles designated for assignment.
Nationals purchase the contract of James Wood and recall him from Rochester.

Maybe it's time to call Wood. Otherwise, Call is the CF in AAA, and we know that Call is not a major league hitter. Cut Victor tonight.

Robles has had all the time in the world to prove himself and has failed miserably. Time to move on.

I would guess that Rizzo has tried to trade Victor, probably for years and years. As I keep think of ways to get Nunez off the 26-man roster. But I doubt Miami would trade the rights to Nunez for hopeless Robles. Just cut him.

Over and over, Victor does something good. Gets praised. And does something heroically dopey. Seems like his problem has always been emotional, rather than physical. DFA him.

Got the AAA team going in another tab, Wood singled to get his AVG back over .350

Yeah, I just lost some respect for Davey. No reason Robles should still be in this game.

I said it before. It is not Robles baseball IQ that is deficient but he has less than average intelligence. In other words just plain stupid.

Maybe Young is hurting? If so, that's another reason to bring Wood to Washington.

They're insulting fans with these peculiar lineups and roster decisions.  Opposing OPS is down 87 points compared to last year, but the win total won't be much higher because they're playing hitters based on contract, personal favorites, and Rizzo trying to look like a hero with Rule 5's.  Rizzo will never admit a mistake, and Davey makes poor decisions with who he's given, so we'll have to deal with weak rosters the rest of the year...at least.

Gore has figured out a way of taking sloppy fielding out of the equation. 6 Ks.

tried to get him a day off against a righty. I don't blame Davey for trying. Same thing for Lipscomb. Got to do it sometime. They aren't Cal Ripken.

Best catcher in the org just doubled in a run for Rochester.  We've got two terrible defensive catchers with the MLB team, but Ruiz has a contract, Nunez gets to waste a roster spot, so Millas probably doesn't get called up until after the deadline at least.

Almost like his pitching is independent of fielding?

Number 3 hitter's OPS down to .554, think Meneses has earned more than a day off.
