Winker has not played an inning of 1B in his MLB career. Honestly, if they were to try that, I think he'd need to take a ton of reps over the All Star break. It's just not going to happen if they are making a playoff push, which is why you'd bring both Crews and Wood up now.
Its first base. Its easy. Tell him wash

He played three games there in the minors. He's good.

Trade Thomas, call up crews, extend Winker to play DH next year.

I don't think there's a need to platoon him at DH. The power isn't there, but neither is it there for Ramirez. Winker's OBP vs lefties is .344. That's 4th among guys on the roster, behind CJ, Lane, and Young. Ramirez is wish and a hope he rediscovers something, not backed by signs of life.

DH? He's your first baseman after a couple more weeks of taking infield pregame.

Winker can rotate to LF to give Wood or Young or Thomas a break. Handy that Wood can pkat CF, even if he has played corner OF at Rochester.

Yepez is going to get a good run at 1st for the rest of July, at least. I'm not sure Winker gets a chance there unless he's around after the trade deadline. There's no squeeze on getting him, Lane, Young, and Wood in the lineup until Crews is up. Ramirez may still get his chances for a while, too.

Sure Winker could still take the field, but you would not want his D out there regularly.

Frankly, the team would be better off with Call as the 4th OF in place of Ramirez, who is a short-side of a platoon DH who probably can't hit lefties much better than the guy he platoons with.

Call is a terrible hitter, hitting .214 in Rochester. With Wood, the Nats have two guys who can play CF, and four who can play corner OF. Winker and Ramirez are not good enough to play every day in LF, but a game here or there would be OK when one of the starting three needs a day off.

I mean you might as well stick with Young for now over Call.

Call wouldn't need to play. He's just a guy who can field in a pinch or as a d replacement for a bad defender instead of having to play Winker, Vargas, or Ramirez. He's better defensively than Thomas, too. More useful right now than Ramirez.

The good thing about Call is that he works the pitcher.  Guy has good at bats
