Hey, Bob: Walter Johnson pitched side-arm. The Nats' trainer said that Johnson could pitch forever because his pitching motion was so easy on his arm. Johnson, incidentally, retired after a line-drive broke his leg.

It's not like CJ couldn't bat 2nd. I mean, lefty hitter, decent pop. it's not like Thomas exactly clutters the bases in front of him. Maybe a guy like Keibert hitting 3rd could take a pitch or two with his contact skills and CJ in a running situation.
