Nationals Arm Race is pretty high on the top 3 in Wilmington's rotation.
Quote
Rotation Observations: Lara, Theophile, and Young have all been fantastic four turns through the rotation, each sporting an ERA in the 1s or 2s. Lara’s got the “worst” ERA of these three but a fantastic 37/8 K/BB ratio in his 23.2 IPs as a 21yr old. After watching Lara get socially promoted and constantly be the youngest guy at the level, he’s finally getting a chance to repeat a level and so far looks great.

Pegs Lara as the next promotion.

that was probably written before Theophile's last start.

he's still got a 3.46 FIP. Walks are a problem. It really was written after 4 starts and missed his 5th

Todd Boss at Nationals Arm Race had some interesting thoughts on Jose Atencio in his monthly wrap up of the system's pitching:
Quote
Next guy to get Promoted: Shuman finally got promoted despite getting whacked in his 3 High-A starts to start the month. I think its Atencio’s turn. He’s had a very solid High-A season all told (3.47 ERA in 18 starts) and had similar numbers in August. He’s only 22 and seems like a sneaky decent prospect for us.

Low K rate but a low BB rate too. Longenhagen's 2022 system review had a blurb on him saying he throws 90-92 (as a 20 year old) and says he throws "quality strikes." I wonder if this is the type of guy who could be a contributor in relief if he were converted to a reliever and got a velocity bump.

Season over. Final record: 26-40, last in their division, second worst record in the league.
