I actually really like a lot of the Pirates pieces. Not unlike Nats in that you can see if ownership leaned in on pitching then maybe some interesting things could be happening.

I think there's still some dumb aggression running bases but it hasn't cost us.

Yes but as the announcers said he froze even as it was clear the ball would be caught.  Not like it was a diving catch.

He could have stopped half-way. Gotten back to 1B or made 2B if, as seemed unlikely, the ball dropped. Vic never learned the game of baseball.
