If you want to start today's GDT, maybe working up a nice one with pictures and wisdom, then you can claim it below. That'll minimize wasted effort.

If it is less than 15 minutes before first pitch, then I recommend just using the quick GDT format, which is found in the GDT subforum.

Last year, we had some games that started before anyone set up a thread. In that case, just start the new topic with a post. No need for lineups.

For home games, the format for the subject is:
Nationals v. [Team we are hosting], Game [whichever game of the series]

For road games, the format is:
Nationals @ [Home Team], Game [whichever game of the series]

I forget how we deal with rain outs and suspended games.

I think it depended on how delayed the make-up/continuation was, so we played it by ear whether to revive the existing thread or create a new one.

I have a .txt file with a template into which I plug in the particulars of that day's game, so my GDTs are rather formulaic. I do try to add in some pictures and wisdom, such that it is, when I get a chance.

Is there a Dead Head who would want to start the GDT for Wednesday night, 5/8? It's Grateful Dead night at Nats Park, so a Dead theme would be great.

We used to have a guy Stealyourbase who was in some Dead cover bands, but he hasn't checked in in a few years. I guess he pulled a Mississippi Half-Step Uptown Toodeloo.

Tune in to the Washington Nationals Fan Forum
at 4:00 PM for Game 2 at Boston Red Sox.

The SY FY channel will air a Twilight Zone Marathon on Saturday, with episodes of the original Twilight Zone TV show from 8 AM until 6 AM Sunday morning.
