There's no way Rizzo would bring up Alex Call (6 home runs so far) over Wood to replace Thomas, would he?

I assume Stone isn't ready.

Maybe a double move - Call and Wood and DFA Rosario?

Maybe a double move - Call and Wood and DFA Rosario?

Rosario's got a split contract, he can be sent to Rochester without being DFA'd.  He's also getting up to $4 million this year, which as we know matters more to our fine ownership than his .122 or whatever it is batting average.

Call is the most likely.  Would love to see Wood, and hope I'm wrong, but I think Mini Me and Rizzo are already haunted by the sounds of a service clock alarm and ticking that resembles the intro to Pink Floyd "Time".

Wood would get an extra year service time if he's not near the top of the RotY voting at this point. He'd surely be a super 2, but that generally has not been something they've tried to manage before. Even after the Alu DFA, there's still deadwood on the roster like Willingham, so it's possible they pull the plug on him rather than release Rosario. They can probably 60 day IL Brzycky.

The double move of Wood and Call makes the most sense now, then send Call back down when Garrett or Robles is ready.

Golden says Trey Lipscomb is in DC and will be added to the roster if Thomas goes on the IL.

Rizzo was on the Junkies earlier and said they'd only consider bringing Wood up if Thomas is out long-term.

Senzel to be a righty outfielder when Trey plays?

Guessing Winker / Young / Rosario will be the primary OF.

Rosario and Lipscomb in a

with Senzel popping between OF and 3rd base. Or conceivably Senzel DH'ng some and Gallo in the OF with Meneses at 1st (last night's alignment, with Trey rather than Ildy at 3rd).

MCL. this may not be quick.

If Lipscomb is the call up, they probably are shifting one of Gallo or Senzel to the outfield. I don't think they need 3 infielders on the bench, so one of Lipscomb or Vargas will be every day.

Quietly, Vargas is .297 / .409 / .405 over 44 PAs. I guess a .108 ISO is the definition of "quietly."

You could be right as the Medial Collateral Ligament is major but not as critical as the Anterior Cruciate Ligament as I blew our both

moved the Crews discussion to his Farm FTP thread since it really is not about any near-term transactions like the whole Thomas / Lipscomb / Ruiz /Millas shuffle on the major league roster.

Who is he replacing? Rosario is my guess. It’s interesting to me that 29 other GM’s saw something and didn’t sign him in spite of a decent season with the Braves. I thought his bat swing was very slow.

This had to happen. They can't be trotting out Gallo and Rosario every day.

Its not like Call is much of an improvement. He certainly isn't at the plate.

he fields well and has been on a heater in AAA since the start of the year. He also walks. if he has a .180 / .260 / .250 line, that's better than either rosario or Gallo lately. take a look at the numbers since 4/12.

writing was on the wall for MBarnes. Unfortunate, because the Nats are going back to Boston this weekend and it would have been nice for him to show and get a hand. Big contributor there, but not showing much more than a fungible back of the pen arm here.  I wish him well and hope he gets another shot at filling out somebody's bullpen. The breaking stuff was fun to watch.

It's a better bullpen with a hard throwing lefty. Just in time for Grateful Dead night, Robert "Hunter - Jerry" Garcia returns.
