How many days until Call can be re-called? The only other minor league OF on the 40-man is Stone Garett.

I think 10, but there is a rule where you can call a guy back quicker if it is to replace a player put on the IL. When Winker was pulled for back spasms, I thought they might IL him, in which case Call could be recalled.

Dump the useless free agents that fill out the Nats roster.

Flippage is a mistaken way to improve the Nats. Of this year's wave, only Rosario looks like a player another team might want. Winker, signed for $2 million, has not hit since he was traded to Seattle a few years ago. Maybe he is hurt, and has been, but he is hitting the same .220 that he hit in 2022 and 2023. Senzel has never been much, although he had a decent rookie season. He signed for $2 million.

this makes a ton of sense. Millas is raking in AAA, and pretty clearly is the closest thing to an MLB defender at catcher on the roster. I had been saying keep all 3 and do something with Nunez, but Adams right now could benefit from just playing and hitting, and maybe getting a shot at 1st in a few games against lefties.

Davey says they want Adams to play some 1B to develop his movement around the bag. Talks about Adams as an emergency 1B with the Nats, but maybe he would be the player that lets the Nats ditch Gallo. Yes, that doesn't fit lefty-righty assumption, but Gallo has been a bad hitter for years.
