Saw the weather looked brutal in DC yesterday, but 3rd worst attendance last night, just ahead of Detroit and Oakland.  Maybe they have C3PO or the lead singer of Green Day pitch the 9th today.
a little over 22K yesterday. Looked that way from my seats.

Harry Potter giveaway tonight. It will be packed. 4pm game too

It is...damned shame adults don't just leave the jerseys for the kids...

Saw one guy step in front of a kid and literally rip a Star Wars shirt from a kids hands...last year, IIRC ..

Opening the gates 15 minutes later than in the past...wonder how much that saves the Lerners?

18,000 yesterday, next lowest were Oakland and Detroit at 25k.  Seems like a promotion hangover from Harry Potter.

Eh, most of the people who grew up reading Harry Potter are now adults

Any reason the attendance was so low? Perhaps it was too humid+hot? (Plus the team sucks this year too, I know)

Sunday 1:30 PM games in early August shouldn't draw advance sale but for the promo. Some likelihood of rain, too, probably hurt the walk up.

I assume the heat has something to do with it. We were going to go to the Saturday afternoon game but with the heat index being around 100 degrees we opted for an escape room instead. :)

Brewer fans also don't travel as well as some others.

I see, hopefully the crowds will be better in the upcoming weekends!

I'm surprised the Potter thing didn't get more advanced purchases.

Rockies in town next week for an early-mid week series.  Unless Paul McCartney, Chewbacca, or Sporty Spice is doing some postgame thing I'm not aware of, probably looking at 15k for each of the three games.

and this is where Dylan Crews debut could hype sales for at least one of the games. Let's see if they start talking about a call up this weekend. They left plenty of hints before Wood was called up. I think there's already an 8/21 promo.

You’ve been calling this for a while. And seems it will happen.

That's true, and given your predictive powers, won't write that 8/20 game off just yet.

tbh, I'm surprised there's no rumors yet. We'll see tonight's pregame from Davey or if Rizzo drops a hint on radio.

I went to Tuesdays Orioles/Nats game in Baltimore. Baltimore still doesn't sell any outfield upper deck seats. I guess they're too cheap to clean them, they're cheaper , or they want to make it look like the stadium is more full. It would make it nicer if fans had the option to buy them though instead of being packed in with all the Orioles fans. They have a tendency not to bath.

Averaging about 19k for August so far, will likely fall to 23rd in attendance after the Twins, but should get a boost from Yankees and Cubs fans for those upcoming series.  Finished 23rd last year at 23,034, could be a very similar number for this season.

Back into 22nd place ahead of the Twins thanks to three nights of "Let's Go Yankees".

Will be interesting to see how the Cubs fan travel this weekend.

Just ahead of the Nationals is the Reds. There must be a lot of hard working people in Cincinnati because I'm watching this Friday afternoon game in Cinci with the Brewers and it looks like there's about 3 people in the stands.

Saw a picture of the White Sox game and they might as well have put cardboard fans in the seats COVID style

Thanks to a week of Yankee and Cub fans, at 24.8k avg, and back ahead of the Twins.  12 games left, including four with the Marlins that will likely be under 20k, but also three with the Phillies.

Have "clinched" a minimum avg of 21,100, so likely to finish a little higher than most of our pre-season picks of 20-21k.

Would be interesting to parse the concert games out of the total and get a revised total/differences...

My guess is there will be a crap tonne of postgame concerts next season...
