I went to a couple of those.  Mexico/Ghana and Argentina/Portugal. 

I think the organisers wanted Nigeria to win, which they did...with games in late July and early August at venues in DC, Birmingham, Orlando, Miami, and Athens GA, it was not an experience that people from non-equatorial regions would be expected to survive.

I caught the usa Portugal game from behind one of the nets. IIRC, that Portugal team was the start of a big generation for them

Home games against Latin American teams should be under a half foot of snow in below zero temperatures  Home games against Canada should be outdoors in houston or New Orleans. There is no excuse for playing a Latin American country in the south

i went to a game at RFK that year. Can't recall who played but it was a blast.
