Before the pick is announced, I’ll go on record as saying three months ago I was all I on Jayden Daniels. But I’ve psyched myself out on him, probably overrating the risks that he may be too slim and will take too many sacks, like Howell. I’m in on Drake Maye, who I think has unlimited potential.

We shall see!

The last time the Redskins won a playoff game before last night, Alex Ovechkin had 25 career goals.

That sound was just like the "gong" in Game 7, 2019. And so says Redskin Dan v1978, too.
my first thought was, "how long until someone mentions Howie Kendrick?" Best playoff doink for Washington in 5+ years.

Hey, Avis rents some nice cars, too. Jack Bruce was a star in his own right. Scottie Pippen is in the Hall of Fame.

He rubbed his head six times for good luck. Obviously what got the kick through.
Well now I’m reading he actually has OCD. Sorry buddy.

Imagine if we picked Drake Maye. In a vacuum, good player, we'd be excited, but watching Jayden Daniels do his thing for the Patriots?

Commanders nailed the pick so far. Will check back in a few years, but barring injury this is a great pick.

they are 1-2. Maye was brought along slower on a less talented team and he probably doesn't take the Commies to the playoffs. Maye didn't have a called run (sneak or draw) until the last couple of games. Real training wheels season. OTOH, I would be minimally shocked if Maye outperforms the rest of a great qb class and has years better than Daniels. If both are regarded top 5 - 10 in the league in a couple of years, there's no surprise.

Gotta think if the draft were re-run, it would be Daniels #1, Nix #2.

I don't know about Nix. He was in the perfect situation and was good but not great. Williams and Mayo both had awful coaching

Maye had skill-less receivers. I mean, most of NE thought his big receiver's name was pronounced like John Big Boutte from Buckaroo Banzai. Henry is good, but he's 3rd option good.

This may go down as the best class of QBs ever. Williams will be good, and Penix looked good in a short stint. Probably not as good at the high end as 1983 - Elway / Kelly / Marino, plus O'Brien, Eason, and Rutledge - but maybe deeper.

And we haven't yet seen what McCarthy can do.

All he had to do was sneak it and he had the first down. What a moron.

gave away the gimmick. Should have worked but the rb ran into Marriota. Daniels had room to run

Why is someone who’s been on the team for like a month now the backup?
