Chiefs re-sign Mecole Hardman, so no having to get him back from the Jets this time. Just as well, given his game winning reception in the SB...

That's a lot of money for a qb who may or may not be any good

I can only take being a fan of one insult-your-intelligence, dysfunctional DC franchise.  Why does the Raljon Football Team keep posting on FB about "top Commanders in history" and then show Riggins, Darrell Green, Theismann, etc?  They're acting as if the name Redskins never existed.  I'm not a fan of the team but as a football fan it's disgraceful.  The Redskins are a big part of NFL history and shouldn't be whitewashed out of the history books. Also pretty clear that with the bizarre decision regarding Jason Wright, and the reluctance to ditch the atrocious nickname Snyder came up with that Josh Harris hasn't done much to clear out the dysfunction that's still there.

When Harris didn’t totally clean house, I lost faith that this group will be any different. Aggressive incompetence is ingrained in Ashburn and Harris kept most of them

Four weeks to Opening kick-off, and Pre-Season is upon us. Sheech - where did that off-season go?... ;)

I watched the Niners preseason game today on TV.  It was so painful to watch the 3rd and 4th stringers I kept the Nats game on my laptop and watched both.  Would never do that regular season.

Chiefs lost 13 - 26 to the Jaguars, not that it means much. Usual Chiefs preseason - Mahomes & Co run out for one down, then it's practice squad / fringe all the way. Mahomes & Co probably won't put in any serious effort until mid-way through the second half of the final game.

Chiefs have got through the off-season relatively unscathed - the only notable departures being Sneed (Titans), Allegretti (Commanders) and Townsend (Texans). Can understand Allegretti wanting more playing time. The major loss will be Townsend - with the Gilead City Chiefs kicker, they formed the best kicking team in the NFL. Interesting to see how Gilead does with a rookie spot holder who has a 'track record' (ahem!...)... ;)

Niners didn't even do that, Purdy, Kittle, CMC, Deebo, Bosa, Warner, etc didn't dress for the game.  Shanahan didn't even call the plays, he had the assistant QB coach do it.  In addition to the backups playing, this is also part of the issue - no team wants to show their playbook in any of these games.

The beautiful thing is charging season ticket holders full price for these fake games.

at least with the Nats, the other teams typically fielded their major leaguers for most of the game, except the Marlins.

You can always sell playoff tickets to cover the rest of the season, well, not commanders fans, but more than half the league can

Chiefs Practise Squad lost to Lions Practise Squad, last Saturday. To make it even more pointless, Mahomes and Kelce used their downs to run silly trick plays - perhaps they were auditioning for the Bananas?...

Saw an article, recently, which suggested that senior figures, in the NFL, are pushing for pre-season to be shortened and the regular season expanded. Not before time...

The league wants to go to 18 games. That would push the Super Bowl back to the Sunday before Presidents’ Day here which is a holiday. Of course the players will want something in return.

I wonder how many weeks the regular season can go before you get fan fatigue. For me, we’re already there, but the team I follow is perpetually terrible.

I've been there for nearly a decade, including the last stretch of Brady Patriots super bowl teams.  To me, the first half of the year is just about avoiding injuries and more or less slotting teams based on actual play. I'd much rather watch playoff baseball or a good bike race, which are two things to most people is like saying I'd rather watch paint dry.

Go to 1 or two exhibition games basically says you don't earn your job based on your performance in games. Probably true, but a horrible message to the fans. It also means the first few games that "count" are, quality-wise, still in the "shaking out the kinks" stage. I don't suppose the NFL will discount the tickets for the lower quality performances.

I love the beginning of the season because that's were you get hope and where you see what new story lines will play out. It gets boring for me once you pretty much know who will be in the playoffs and who will be terrible. The last week is great too if you have games that decide playoff berth, it's the late season where I tune out
