You can thank MLB and the Orioles for Skenes being a Pirate. My favorite part of the whole thing was creating a silly lottery to punish teams that don't spend and the number one offender gets the generational pitcher because of it lol

Skenes ERA down to 1.97 after the 6th. Sitting at 85 pitches so could be done after this inning. What a season for him.

Langford was put on the 10 Day IL today with an oblique injury. Finishes with a 2025 WAR of 4.0...7.1 WAR for his brief career, which is thought to be a $56.7MM value.

Our #2 first round pick in the 2023 draft has a 2025 WAR of 0.3 with 3 games to go, and a 0.8 WAR for his brief career, which is thought to be a $6.4MM value.

Langford had a .241 average and 22 homers over 573 PAs with 22 SBs. Crews has a .250 xBA and 10 HRs over 315 PAs with 17 SBs. I won't knock Langford but to say Crews is a 4th OF with pretty similar stats is questionable. Yes, expected batting average is not the same as actual average, but it is a decent measure of talent until there's enough years of play to show something is off.

Skenes' 2025 ERA is almost identical to his 2024 ERA. Cy Young #1 is in the bag.

I guess we'll see...I always thought his ceiling was a Lane Thomas-ish career...certainly not a #2 overall pick career. He's got a ways to go just to get where Lane got. That's my take and I'm stickin' to it...

Lane’s stats in st Louis were brutal and he didn’t become a regular until he reached DC. When he was 26 I think. He’s 30 now. Crews is still 23. So he has three more years to reach that age and probably start his peak years. You can’t really compare a guy you saw at 26 to one you've been watching at 22/23. He will be better at the plate in 2026. Mark my words.
