I would be curious what Welch and some of our NYC members and NYY followers think.

I think they are going to want to play Dominguez in CF next year and Judge in a corner. Soto could play in the easier corner, but they also need a 1st baseman and maybe a 2d/3d baseman (wherever Chisholm isn't). Maybe Soto goes to 1st, or maybe they go for Santander, Walker, and Bregman and skip Soto.

Soto belongs at 1B...wearing a curly-W, of course. He's not fast enough to play the OF, and his arm was never great. My wish is that he sign with the Yankees if not with the Nats. Mostly because I hate the Mets and Steve Cohen and Met fans. Upper Manhattan, where I live, and the Bronx, so nearby, have many Dominicans. My congressional district is nick-named "Little DR", for instance. He will be welcomed.

Will he choose the team that offers the most money? Who knows?
