"The doc is the first greenlit under Netflix’s new creative partnership with Montreal-based Attraction" Somehow, I think DC will end up being the villain

Probably MLB more so than DC.

I doubt DC is the villain, they were being threatened with contraction and spending half their seasons in Puerto Rico before the DC move.   Loria and MLB would probably be the villains in Montreal's eyes.  By the time they went to Washington they were dead to expos fans already.

The 2006 documentary "The Game Comes Home," about the return of baseball to DC is available on Amazon Prime for rent or purchase, fairly cheap too. It's pretty good. I bought the HD version but the vast majority of the clips in the film are not in HD, so I'd recommend going for the cheaper standard def version.

Thanks. I'll check that out.

That will be interesting, I wonder what "narrative" they will push.

Objectively, the ultimate reason for the team leaving Montreal was the refusal of the provincial government to fund a new MLB ballpark in downtown Montreal. That's not DC's fault. However many Montreal pundits blindly blamed MLB & Selig for the move at the time.

Funny that they are spending 900 million (?!?) to try to repair the roof in the big owe now.   That should bring the total amount of money put into that stadium to over $10 billion in today's dollars.

Yep, I would read the Montreal Gazette every day. There was a columnist who constantly wrote about the state of the team and if they were staying. A couple of times it looks like a deal was done to build a stadium which would of kept the team in Montreal but the deal always fell through. I bet now most wish they would of got the deal done. I would love to see them get an expansion team.

Thanks Senatorswin, hopefully we'll get an expansion team up here one day... until then I'll keep coming to DC to root for the Nats  :)
