As I understand it, he was a US Army Major with an MOS in Substance Abuse Counseling...

So much for that...
Geez.

I read today that Johnny’s widow is pregnant with their third child.

I remember watching the movie Great White Hope with my folks when it came out. I was young enough to not understand the social context of Jack Johnson. That voice.

It's too bad that they never included Samuel L. in their recording sessions.

Dikembe Mutombo, 58 of brain cancer. :(

Always will remember him telling Jordan "you can't dunk on Mutombo" or something like that.

Is there a mechanism for Rose to get in the hall now that his “lifetime ban” is complete?

It's not really a "lifetime ban." He's on the "permanently ineligible" list. The Commissioner would have to remove him from that list.

Doing so would only enrich MLB now that he is gone...doesn't do Pete any good.  Better they have to explain how they banned him for gambling while gambling now finances the sport...
