Hard to understate how big an impact Fernando-mania had on baseball in the early 1980s. I know his career stats weren't good enough to get him into the Hall but he had a heck of a six-year run and also had a huge impact on increasing baseball popularity (especially in Mexico). I wouldn't object to enshrining him.  Dave Roberts said the other day that other than Jackie Robinson, Fernando made the most impact on baseball of any Dodger.

not going to knock that, but Paul McCartney is a heck of a musician. There's a few others that come to mind. I'm a fan of Dusty Hill. Robbie Shakespeare, Bootsy Collins, Jack Bruce

Flea, John Entwistle, Verdine White, Roger Glover, Donald "Duck" Dunn all come to mind as great bassists. Michael Anthony too. Flea redefined the role of the instrument IMHO, he's way more important to the sound of the RHCP than the guitarist.

Geddy Lee.

Geddy was quite the baseball geek...he had an incredible collection of autographed and other memorabilia.  I think Dan Rather did a special about it.  I mean Honus Wagner, Babe Ruth, US Presidents, etc., as well as purely one-off stuff.

Finally we have a winner!

Leland Sclar is very entertaining however, I follow his short Youtube videos, even made a brief cameo appearance in one  :-[ when he walked the line outside the Birchmere last year.  At 7:44, behind the guy with the cowboy hat on.  This was for the Lyle Lovett tour.

It's not a cameo when you have a speaking part...
