If I'm reading the charts correctly, the Fort Myers area is expected to receive 10+ foot of storm surge from the southern bands of Milton, which is what the area got from a direct hit by Hurricane Ian a few years ago. Insane.

and it's far enough south that Tampa Bay is getting and anti-surge with an outflow from the bay.

Surge is clobbering towns to the south as far as Fort Myers and Naples.

Tropicana Field is now an open-air stadium.
https://www.abcactionnews.com/news/local-news/the-roof-of-tropicana-field-was-ripped-off-by-hurricane-miltons-winds

The trop was being used as temporary housing for first responders and utility workers.

St. Pete has no water after a major water main break. The city is shutting off the water system until it's repaired.

The pictures of the Trop without a roof are truly mind-blowing. The Rays picked a good year to not make the playoffs, that's for sure.

We survived but no power in our apartment.  Daughter says they have power which is good.  Just a few small trees down.
Long live the Trop.

I keep wondering if they'll decide that it's too expensive to repair and just not worth it for a facility that's more or less condemned to demolition anyway.

It looks like it’s just the roof fabric that got destroyed. I assume they’ll fix it. It’s probably insured as well.

Got a magnificent display out here in the boonies, on South Mountain at the Frederick/Washington County line. Pinks, oranges, and greens across the sky. Breathtaking.

I’ve never seen them before. Bucket list item - checked off!! And a lot cheaper than a trip to Iceland or Alaska.

Horrific flooding in Valencia, Spain from a massive storm that dropped around 20" of rain in ~4 hours, along with massive hail. Reports are that at least 60 are dead/missing. Videos showed a river of cars washing down streets.

We ran into quite a snow storm on the way from Ohio to Chicago yesterday...took 9 hours to drive from Dayton using back roads part of the way as Interstate 65 was shut down in one stretch...
