It’s also confusing because it includes the four lowest seeds.  But also another four ten or eleven seeds.  Who are clearly better qualified than some of the teams that wait until Thursday or Friday.

It’s the worst at large and the worst auto bid teams playing to see who gets into the tournament

Radford won a play-in game for the 16 seed a few years ago against a school that no longer exists. That is considered a tournament win.

68 teams are in the tournament this year.  Full stop.

When did LIU Brooklyn close? It's a private institution...or was anyway...

Wonder if Radford has a banner commemorating that 2018 NCAA Tournament win hanging over the court?

Sorry, meant to say their basketball program no longer exists. The LIU Brooklyn Blackbirds ceased to be a team in 2019 and were merged with the LIU Post Pioneers to become the LIU Sharks, representing both Brooklyn and Post.

It has been so long since I left Long Island that I wasn't aware that CW Post had become LIU Post. CW Post was a pretty popular university for my high school classmates who wanted to go to a four year school but still stay on the Island.

I was going to say my nephew’s eldest goes to med school there.

Don’t see a line on the Virginia game at my betting site.  Injuries?

I’m watching on CBS sports network.  They asked some “expert” who could be this year’s FAU?  He said JMU.

I have them beating Wisconsin and Duke. Watching the big 10 tournament, Wisconsin seemed pretty unremarkable. Too bad they couldn't have been in Purdue's region

Looks like it is because  a Florida app and I’m currently in Virginia.

Colorado State is a 2.5 point favorite.  I would take UVA to win.

Ken Pom has Colorado state at 38 and UVA at 69. 2.5 seems low

I would mention the eye test, but UVA basketball is too painful to watch for long. I think a reddit post summed it up pretty well

At one point UVA had missed 18 shots in a row and went about 15 minutes without scoring.

That was gruesome. I turned it off early in the second half in favor of reading a book.

I watched most of the Howard game out of the corner of my eye. Caught their 8-0 run in the middle of the 2d half that made things competitive, then closed my check out and was saying good bye when they went on that unbelievable run from 13 down to having 3 shots to tie as time ran out. I literally was saying goodbye to one of the CCSP owners and sort of said "well, I'll stick around if they hit this, but it looks like they are toast." At least one of the 3s they tried was a  terrific look.

The contraption that Seth Towns was wearing one his leg was just amazing. He was they key to one Amaker's best recruiting classes, legit 5 star, who wreaked his knee and was already a medical leave for a year before the Ivies cancelled 2021, so he had 2 more years of eligibility when he  graduated Harvard. He was a grad transfer to Ohio State, but I guess he might have played a year and got hurt again with still another year of eligibility. He got his leg in good enough shape to play again and transferred to Howard, and had a nice season for them. I guess he's 25 or so now and was on rosters / medical redshirt for 8 seasons.

The ACC is starting to look like a mid major. Pretty awful showing for a supposed basketball conference

I put $1 on JMU to win their region. $50 payoff!  I can dream.

That’s a shame.  Might be able to win a couple of games but no Final Four this year.

Ooos. She has been out for a while.  But they did not announce she was out for the season until they got the home regional! Smart.
