Young starts. He is a bonafide major leaguer. Nunezz needs to start at SS, with CJ at 2B. Find a catcher, and the Nats wi;; have the backbone of a team.

I sold all my Jacob Young stock last season like an idiot but I’m back in. He’s going to finish 2nd in position player WAR for Nats this season

After todays game, I'm going to bring up a subject that hasn't been addressed to my knowledge. I believe Young has lost a step or two since his arrival on the Nats. He tore up the basepaths in 2024 and was CS only a couple of times. Last year, his attempts were dramatically less and he was barely sucessful over 50%. This year I think he only made several attempts and actually managed to get picked off a couple of times.

And you would be correct. Statcast lists his sprint speeds dropping by almost a foot per second over that time frame.
