Perhaps we were a little quick to write this guy off. His offense has taken off this year at Wilmington over 136 PAs.

Made is showing some nice plate discipline, with his BB% jumping to 16% this year from the 10-12% the past couple of years, and his K% is 20.6%, right at the level it's been his entire time in the minors. The ISO isn't there, but .287 / .415 / .352 shows something. his raw speed and ability to steal aren't at Nunez's level, but still figures to be above average, as does his fielding. This guy looks like another potential utility guy like Lipscomb.

To me, he looks like he'll be ready for a promotion to AA in June.

Saw him on his rehab assignment with the FredNats today in Salem. Hard to say much about a guy playing down two levels, but he did ok generally. Not any different than the player I've seen in AA. Contrary to the online box (the official scorer had a lot of issues not noticing substitutions today), he played both SS and 2B and looked much more comfortable at short.

Error at 2B was costly and was a throwing error on a ball he shouldn't have thrown. I don't think that matters to his long-term prospects as a player. He's only ever possibly worth a 40-man spot as a depth SS, and he may not hit enough to get to that.

As a reminder, he's the second piece of the return for Candelario, so given Herz hasn't been a zero, that trade's already a win.

Why do we need to bump anyone? Made is a low 700s OPS in May. King was the same in Single A and he can (and should) play other positions.
