Why keep Gore out there 108 pitches. Should have never been out this inning. Especially after giving up a hr last inning and not looking great this late in the game. Giving a relief pitcher a 4 run lead is better than two

Ever see Springsteen talk about that?  The lyrics referred to a duece coupe. Manfred Mann took it in a very different direction…

Have not. It’s the same lyrics. It’s just their accents/singing voice.

It was a test for Gore. The wins and losses don’t matter.

It was the subject of great discussion when I was in college.

I think the Springsteen version was cut loose like a deuce. The Manfred Mann was revved up like a deuce. So clearly a car.

no no no. Bruce is "cut loose like a deuce" while Mann  is "revved up like a deuce."
