usually the case. Ghost has nice sources. Even better the Zuckerman and Golden it seems. They may be more reluctant to run something before the source allows their name to be cited.

The Nats spent $16,435,200 in total in the 2024 MLB draft. They spent $14,575,200 in total against their slot value cap of $13,895,100 so the #Nats went over the cap by 4.90% which cost the team an additional 75% penalty of $510,000.  The Nats spent an additional $1,350,000 on their $150,000 allotments for draftees past the 10th round. By my calculations the Nats were about $14,656 from going to a higher tier of penalties.

that should be the attitude, but you can't get on their case for doing the right thing in an aspect of their organization. On top of that, evaluators liked their picks. Proof of course is several years down the line, and what evaluators say won't ultimately matter, but so far, it looks like they weren't stupid or cheap here.
