See you in two years Travis. That truly sucks. Time to trade Gore and get a haul of prospects before Gore walks in FA. Our pitching is decimated presently.

With a shortened season in 2027, he probably won't be pitching in MLB until 2028

Really unfortunate, he was the one Rizzo man crush pitcher who could actually throw strikes.

Susana faked me out when it was Sykora who I needed to be worried about.

I’d bet a dollar Susana goes down too.

Is the minor league season cancelled too when there is a strike/lockout?  It’s bad enough that he’ll miss 2026, but it’s probably important for development to be able to pitch in the minors in ‘27. Missing that year bc of a work stoppage would be brutal.

not in the past. I don't think minors are in the bargaining unit

Zuck says Sykora's surgery is scheduled for tomorrow. So seems like the best case scenario is that he's ready for spring training in 2027.

Sunshine: at least he's not accruing MLB service time.

Getting these kind of strikeout/whiff numbers with a "diminished" fastball is extremely promising. If he gets healthy and comes back to sitting 95-97, with two plus offspeed pitches, he is going to be a beast.
Still holds. If he can be healthy, hes a Cy Young winner

Posted video on his instagram (travissykora_) of him throwing today at camp (not very hard, on a flat surface).

Yay! Goal is for him to start some games at the end of the season, like in late August?

That seems optimistic but potentially achievable, He had TJ around August 1st. Would be nice if he's able to pitch a bit this year and then ready to go in full in 2027.

Would be a nice change of pace from Cavalli and Gray taking two full years.

Gray pitched minor league games in September, so he was on the 12-14 month return timeline.

Ah that's right, he delayed getting TJ originally.

Kind of. It was originally a flexor strain and then he had to undergo TJS. If you want to count him starting his IL time in April, then yea, it was almost two years.

I doubt he'll be ready to start in MLB in '27.  Unlike Gray, Herz, Cavalli, he's had just two starts above High A.  He's going to need a lot of time next year in the minors after he comes back.
