the average is improving but the power still has not shown up. The knock was on his hit tool and the power was supposed to be plus. I wonder if he's just trying to improve the hitting figuring the power will come with more consistent contact.
While last year, he was predominantly an opposite field hitter, and that's where his power has shown, this year, he's pulling much more. In 167 PAs at A and A+ in 2023, he had roughly a 10 BB% with a 20 K%, a .400+ obp, and a distribution of contact that was 35% pull and 40-48% oppo. As many liners as flies roughly. This year, I think his start was a little slow, but he's still a line drive machine, but now is pulling at 43% and oppo at 35%. I don't see launch angle or hard hit %, but I think you can infer his launch angle is low. BB% is constant, but the K% is up a bit. Speculating, it looks like he's adjusting a bit to look to pull, so maybe there was some swing and miss early? Being used predominantly at 1st with House on the AA roster.
