Toboni says he recently texted Morales: "The time will come for YoYo at some point, but I can't tell exactly when that is."

.307   .377   .542   .919 with 17 HR this year in AAA though he cooled off quite a bit in June.

yoyo has really cooled off in June: .217 / .278 / .422 over 90 PA. 5 HR and 2 2B among his 18 hits.

Hitting .339/.388/.677 against LHP this year. That has to be better than what Chapparo is doing.

Looked mortal last.month. give him a nice 3-4 week run and then put it on the options. See if we generate empty roster spots this trade deadline.

There is no reason for him and King to be in AAA. I get King had an injury but both are killing pitching down there while Chappy flounders. Put Yoyo at first, let King DH for now. We need to score 15 runs a game apparently so that should help us get there lol

Well, King is injured, but yes, call up YoYo. Alternate him and Garcia at 1B and DH against RHP, and play him at 1B against LHP.

He seems to have started to turn things around since 6/28 after, frankly, a lousy stretch from late May to that point. I would still like to see how the weaknesses are coming along - GB rate, in zone swing and miss, chase  - that have been noted repeatedly.

Seems to have cut down on his whiff rate on 4 seam fasballs, which was a specific weakness Longhagen had mentioned. when you  compare his current prospect savant page to the one Squab posted in reply #249 on 5/16.

At this point, he has to be added to the 40 man roster this winter, so why not find out what he can actually do  against MLB pitching?

for whatever reason, the team is reluctant to cut bait on Chaparro. You'd think YoYo, by being able to play 3rd, would give them some additional flexibility.

I wonder if he made a swing adjustment in June, after being told what is his weaknesses were.

that might explain the rough June.

His low swing rate in general is interesting. It's not passive in that his strike zone % is low. Still, the lack of pulled flies is weird for a guy putting on a power show. Mead has double Yoyo's pulled fly %

With .930 OPS and .303 BA.

Why is Chappy preferred at 1B, DH, and 3B?? Maybe the organization wants YoYo to get regular ABs at AAA rather than share time in the majors? But, but, but...

Surely Morales can't be a worse glove than what we have?

3 reasons no move has been made.

1) IT means cutting someone because Yoyo is not on the 40 man.

2) your instinct is right. He would not play every day, at least until Garcia is traded. They would rather have Chappy get full time PAs and develop than become the  short side of a platoon in the majors. As much as we ciriticize Chappy as killing the team, he only gets 6 or 7 PAs a week. Chappy has had 55 PAs since he was called up for good on 4/25. That would have killed Morales development.

3)He's not a full time DH unless you want to trade Young or demote Crews or Lile. You need to DH an outfielder most of the time.
