Here is the progress of the Nats top 5 prospects:

1) James Wood – AA – AB -  121   AVG. - .223   HR – 6

2) Brady House – A+ - AB – 56   AVG - .321  HR - 3

3) Cade Cavalli - Tommy John

4) Elijah Green – A – AB – 211   AVG - .218   HR – 3

5) Robert Hassell III – AA – AB - 195  AVG - .231 HR 3

Less than overwhelming

Wood is 20 and in Double A because he raked in single A. This is, frankly, fantastic.

House should probably should be in Double A at this poin

Cavalli got TJS. Oh well. Not the org's fault.

Green - Sucks

Hassell - Coming back from hamate bone surgery. If he's still doing this in September, lets talk about less than overwhelming.

Think this also fails to account for Bennett performing well.

I hope you're right. I hope these excuses are legit and the second half they rake. Encouraged by House. If he continues the Nats could have an infield of House, Abrams and Garcia for years. Obviously Cavalli couldn't help his situation. Hopefully the rest of them can overcome the excuses and are legit players.

Why does Wood need an excuse? He's 20 years old and in Double A. Thats pretty freaking remarkable

Nobody wants Wood to succeed more than me.  The game I saw him in Wilmington he was hitting .393. I wasn't impressed. I didn't think his swing translated to higher level pitching. I hope I'm wrong. But if we're going to give Wood the benefit of the doubt because he's 20, shouldn't we give Green the benefit of the doubt because he's 19.

He’s climbed all the way to the 5th rated prospect in all of baseball. I really don’t see how you’ve come to the conclusion you have surrounding Wood?

Wood thrived in Single A at 19 and 20. Green is floundering.

One things for sure, House and Wood impressed in Seattle. Both have superstar physical talent. No hyperbole.
