Immaculate grid
« on: July 03, 2023, 11:42:44 am »
Daily baseball trivia contest:

https://www.immaculategrid.com/

Each day you have to fill out a grid that cross references players who played for multiple teams as well as one state-related column. Kind of a wordle-like game.

Immaculate today, rarity score of 95 my best ever.

I did a 114 after you posted. I think Félix Fermín, Todd Cruz and Rich Coggins were the key.

.300 hitter for the Mets: Cleon Jones came to mind - 0.7%
57% of my total came from Cal Ripken hitting .300 for dem O's.

Edwin “Transaction” Jackson is a good person to know for this game.

That was cheating. I think that may be the lowest possible score.  I was trying to see how low it could go. I think the fact that there were two stat/award categories that limits it. There are only 4 Astros Cy Young winners for example.

You could go a tiny bit lower - for some reason, the name that rattled out of my mind for the top left was Russ Springer... 0.07%.

Yeah I missed every one of the two team squares on today's. Looking at the answers afterward and there's no way I ever would have gotten it. The gold gloves and 40+ HRs were pretty easy.

if you ever get stuck on a player who played for more than one team, try Edwin Jackson. :)

Got screwed by Josh Bell in today's grid. I guess he hadn't been in the lineup yet to count.

Yeah, you have to have played at least one game. He actually fit into another square, though.

Ahhh so close on today's. I really should have had it. I accidentally put Kirby Puckett instead of Kirby Yates for the Braves/Padres square  :-[

Today's was the easiest I've seen so far. Didn't have to really think for any of the squares.
