Did anyone watch USMNT yesterday?  Did they play well or was it just that Bolivia sucks?

We watched most of it (not the entire game because we were eating dinner). Seemed like some of each. Pulisic's goal was a nice one. They should have won by more than 2–0.

The GP wins its group despite a tie with Slovenia.  Sorry a draw. Slovenia also gets through.

As with the WC, it's tournament play - once everyone knows they've qualified they all start looking at position permutations (which position means which opponent in the Round Of 16). It's what you get when UEFA fixes - sorry - organizes the tournament so that all of the major teams should get past the Group stage...

As we already have spoilers for this one - jeez, that was a tough watch. GP aspiring to be the Nationals offence of soccer... :lol:

Great sarcasm on the Beeb Sport site - 'congratulations to whoever put in the supreme effort to find two minutes of ''highlights'' '... :hysterical:

Who the GP will face, in what will probably be their last game of the Euro's ( ;) ) won't be settled until after the results of tomorrows games are known.

And, of course, we had the shockerooney of Costa Rica holding Brazil goalless - should we start calling Brazil the 'Yellow Global Powerhouse'?... :lol:

Two more goodies on following the GP at the Euro's;

'so, for excitement, in the Round Of 16, it's a choice between watching England or watching paint dry...'

'give this England team a mile and they'll take an inch...'

Ironically, yesterday's results have handed the GP a great opportunity - Germany, Portugal, Spain and France have all ended up in the opposite side of the draw, so wouldn't play the GP until the final...

Alas, it goes down as one of the worst in Euro's history - first group with five matches ending in draws (ties), and no team scoring more than one goal... :roll:

Not surprisingly, a very chippy first half between the US and Panama. US goal disallowed after review, Panama player’s hit on US goalie not carded, then Weah got a red card so the US is playing with ten men. Game is tied 1–1 at halftime.

So didn’t see it but USA loses. So maybe they have to beat Uruguay? Silver lining maybe if they don’t make it through they get a real coach?

That was an ugly game. A Panamanian player got ejected sometime around the 87th minute, but it was too little, too late.

So the 'different' MLS still has supporters who subject Team USA players to racist abuse following a defeat - clearly getting the hang of this soccer-thing, now... :roll:

US Soccer, after the game - '"There is absolutely no place in the game for such hateful and discriminatory behaviour....' Of course, punching Panamanians in the head, off the ball, is just fine - not at all hateful... :D   ;)

Team USA, who have a better goal difference, need to match Panama's result against Bolivia to progress to the last 16.

The UEFA Head Of Refereeing has confirmed that 'no penalty' was the correct decision, in the Scotland v Hungary game. Armstrong was deemed to have initiated contact with the Hungarian player, which sounds like a polite way of saying that he was playing for a penalty... ;)
