The first time the Panthers made the finals was when they played at the old Miami Arena in Overtown...that place had A/C issues (and rats, of the real squeaking & biting variety).

I recall watching the Oilers play the Bruins back in the cup finals in the 1980's when they had to stop games in Boston so the players could go out on the ice and break up the fog that formed from insufficient air conditioning.

And now the Stanley Cup heads to Miami. I guess they figured out the AC issues in warm climates.

Having air conditioners in the arena space itself helps

Flyers and Sabres was the real fog game. Aud in Buffalo had no A/C. Ironic because the Flyers coach was Freddy “The Fog” Shero.

Arizona doesn't have a team anymore. But, of course, the NHL's theory of treating Utah as an expansion team is a bit of a fiction and it's reasonable to consider the entire history of the original Jets and the Coyotes for purposes of this sort of list.

Game 7 drew 16.3 million viewers, second most watched NHL game on record. Playoff ratings were up 85% YoY.

You've have to back to 2018 to find a NBA or MLB playoff game that outdrew it.
