But just one spot.  Number 8.  I want Cam Whitmore.

No worries. We will have the same odds next year!

Clippers GM Winger will take over the Wizards per ESPN. Ted probably could have done worse.

Actually he will be president of basketball ops including the mystics. So they will still probably be hiring a wizards GM.

Here’s an article. He worked under Sam Presti with OKC which I think is a plus. From other reading they hired someone else last off-season who was an assistant wizards GM this past year. Ross. Would not be surprised to see him appointed GM.

Hope so. I hope he can talk Ted into a rebuild if he thinks that is what is needed.

Yep, if Ted insists playoffs are the goal every year, the GM doesn’t matter

Takeaways from the Michael Winger presser:

• Championships are the goal, not just making the playoffs

• Will Dawkins has full control of all basketball relations

• Front office has “full autonomy” to embrace a rebuild

• KP/Kuz have to decide on their future before Wiz do

Some welcome news and if true a good indication they finally hired some guys to run the team who have sense and Ted is staying out of the way. At least for now.

If we trade Beal to any team for spare parts, do we give or get picks? The new salary cap hammers teams that go over the second apron. Beal is 47.7 million next year and goes up to 57 million in 26-27 (assuming he waives his 15% trade kicker). That much for an injury prone guard who isn't a particularly great three point shooter and who can't pay defense seems like insanity for a contending team

Some of the proposals I saw saw them taking contracts back. Like Tobias Harris and some other guys.  But you are right. They won’t get as much as folks think. One feasible option is that they get Jaylen Brown in a sign and trade. Beal is buddies with Tatum. Not sure it makes sense for the Wizards as they really need to just rebuild.

KP has exercised his option for next year so he is gone after that. Tommy would have extended him.

I guess we'd take back Middleton as an expiring plus a few other contracts. I'm not sure it makes the Bucks better, but I'd take it to move on.

Watched ESPN yesterday and after some proposed trades Perkins and others said not enough return for the Wizards. But the return is almost irrelevant. You just need to get out from under the contract. If you get a first round pick from a contending team it’s not likely to amount to much anyway.  Just take an offer now. He has the ONLY no trade clause in the league. Don’t wait until the season and have him be injured again.

Wiz and Heat reportedly working on a Beal trade but they are held up on Washington asking for Tyler Herro
