8 ERA is less than a run an inning. Bases loaded changes that math obviously. A couple runs is probably about expected, so all good!

they bring him in with bases loaded 1 out to face perez witt melendez and he gets out with only 2 runs. that's fine. it's on davey for what preceded him.

i'll say up front that having him ptch the 9th is the right call even if he blows the game
