Irvin strikes out two in the first? Thomas got a hit and Joey drove him in?

(Forgot it was an afternoon game)

I missed what happened. From the replay, did the ball hit him on the inside edge of the kneecap?

It did. I wonder if he popped his acl reacting to the hit. His knee seemed to go sideways.

I’ve seen enough. Pull him and back to Rochester.

Eddie Yost: 18 years, 2100 games, .394 OBP. Very few intentional walks.

And fine fielding gets Irvin out of the third. Exhale.

In a couple years, and if the Nats find a 1B. Nobody above Fred-burg now, and then only if the team converts an OF, like Daylen Lile.

Who will replace him? Kuhl? Abbot? Espino?

He's gone by the deadline. No reason to keep him when we have young guys who need to get MLB at bats

That's the trouble. Only Espino, and he doesn't deserve to be made a starter yet again.

swinging at bouncing balls in the dirt is the trademark of this team....working the pitcher, understanding the strike zone and being willing to make good contact instead of swinging for the moon at garbage are skills this team of duffers lacks.
