The National Weather Service has placed the D.C. area under a high wind warning for the likelihood of strong winds, potentially gusting to around 60 mph Saturday afternoon and evening. “Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles,” the Weather Service wrote.

Winds are supposed to be from the SSW/SW, so the facade/stands are in the way of the field. I've no idea what currents are like around the stadium, though.

New York is supposed to get rain and heavy hail around 8pm and later. Forecast this morning mentioned scattered small tornadoes, but nothing now. Same Microsoft forecast says rain in DC after 8. So a game?

Turns out the wind storm was just an April Fools joke. I guess the local weathermen didn't get to predict any dud snow storms this winter so they made up for it today.

I'm just going off of what I saw on the weather broadcast. By north and east, I meant 12-3 on the Beltway clock and further northeast. Lots of severe storms.  But yes, worst it got in Crystal City was about 15 minutes of big breezes around 6 PM or so.

Very windy in western Prince William now. Most of the storms missed though. Delaware and northern neck got pounded
