It's strange that the 40th largest media market now has three major sports and there is talk of NBA expansion there too.

The raiders are 30th in attendance in their shiny new stadium. The athletics will have 81 home games and a very crappy product for the foreseeable future. I still don't think Vegas will turn out to be a viable market

Hockey is a winter sport where most teams are located in miserable climates. A trip to Vegas to see your team can be a great idea.

gonna guess they aren't so much concerned about rain as they are about shade for fans? they probably can grow natural grass due to the high sun angle and why give a rat's pattootti attitude towards water conservation (most likely gray water to irrigate so they get a LEED certification ). At night, it can  get cool and it will be open. i imagine very few day games other than April and late September.

If they’re pinching pennies to the degree that they’re not offering an air-conditioned option when people have countless entertainment options surrounding it, that could be a signal of the long-term viability of this.

In other words, it is covered except for cracking open a bit occasionally? Yes, that would make more sense
