As an aside, this is what they should’ve done as far as pitchers wanting to hit decades ago. If somebody wants to see a pitcher hit in the majors, make it a pitcher trained to do so at elite level.

I guess I don’t understand what Carp and Franny were saying about Ohtani as pitcher and DH. If he’s the pitcher shouldn’t he have to come out of the game entirely when he leaves as pitcher and then they would have to bat their subsequent pitchers? Have to confess I never paid attention to this before.
