whenever I think of "(You Gotta Have) Heart," why do I think of Hannibal Lecter approving?

Okay, so that was funny.

Sunshine take is I'm genuinely interested in a lot of players on this roster and this system. No having to hear Soto extension or trade talk every broadcast.

Positives!

I'm hoping their aren't 50 comments a broadcast about 2019.  I understand the on-field product is dicey on a good day but the World Series is ancient history at this point.  Focus on the future, not the past.  Not particularly the present either because we know that isn't good.

good day for the SSS yesterday. Big team won, FredNats won, and while Wilmington and Harrisburg lost there were some strong individual performances

Triples are fun.

We traded Soto for absolutely nothing.

Right now the Soto trade doesn't look so bad.

Traded Soto for Gore and Abrams. Plus Hassell, Wood, and Susana, and we will know about them by September. Wood reminds me of Frank Howard before Howard hurt his knees. And Howard was an awesome hitter.

Yea two regulars so far is a decent return. Don’t forget a couple months of Bell was also in the deal. Wood and Susana are at least 2 years away. Long ways to go. One in Low A and not a good first start. Wood looks overmatched in High A. We will see if he can adjust.  But hope for those two. Hassell seems a big unknown also although closer to being ready.

Throw in a few others like Cavalli and House and Green and there is some hope.

We have a great first base coach. EY Jr has great energy and love the salute after hits

Corbin only pitches every fifth day.  Or more when we have a day off.

Nats have held Trout and Ohtani to one hit and one walk in 15 ABs with 7 Ks so far

Candelario is playing all-star quality defense at third base.  His bat is minimal, although he currently leads the team in homers with a whopping two of them.  Still, the defense is awesome.

We don’t play somewhere that’s called “Guaranteed Rate Field”.

KC, Oakland, and Colorado all have lower win percentages
