makes a ton of sense given the injuries there for them. I'm a little surprised they didn't try Castellanos there, but I don't think Harper is sliding into RF anytime soon. Picking up 1st gives them flexibility

the funny thing is, if you were going to shift a guy to first, Castellanos came up as an infielder.  I guess they don't want to play Marsh or Pache in a corner and would rather have some bat, any bat, at first.  I'm sure they thought about Schwarber at first too.

I'm pretty sure I've read that both Castellanos and Schwarber were butchers at 1st when given opportunities there before.

Edit: Looks like Castellanos has never played 1st before so I must have just been conflating the two together.

So, the question is, do they look game saving because he struggled to be in position before having to dive? Because thats probably the case. An average or above average OFer probably gets there well before the need to dive comes up.
