perhaps they are way over their heads, but the Nats have gone 30 games or so at .500. probably just a bit off 3rd wild card pace. i don't expect substantial help to arrive and I don't see the Nats deviating from the rebuild.
in terms of internal help, I guess Rainey could be back, Hassell and Rutledge if things work and they are aggressive, and maybe Kieboom/Alu can help. Doo, maybe, and a few other fringy vets. Dickerson could contribute before August.
