David Carr just got 4/$150 million. Geno Smith got 3/$105 million. QBs are expensive. Jones was the #12 QB in the NFL last year per Pro Football Network's power rankings.  Smith was 10th but is much older. Carr was 17th.

Only $94 million of Jones' deal is guaranteed. And his first year cap hit is $19 million.

They have lots of holes on the team that will be harder to fill going forward.  Signing a running back who has been hurt a lot is not smart either. Res are a dime a dozen.

Just because other teams are making dumb QB deals doesn't mean it makes sense.  At least with NO they are in a terrible division and Carr will be the best QB there by far. Here is another ranking.  #18.  I think its fair to say he is in the middle of the pack even with improved play.

I can understand signing Jones. I don’t understand tagging Barkley. RBs with big contracts usually don’t work out.

Not totally sold on Jones but agree on Barkley.  Just think even if you have a top ten guy, which I think DAK is, it’s hard to justify that money unless he comes up big in the playoffs. Should only be 4 or 5 QBs getting that money. Jones was exposed by the Eagles in the playoffs. The same Eagles D that was shredded by Mahomes. Geno Smiith getting all that money is also crazy for a team that is not close.

Even when people think it’s a great QB class it’s still something of a crap shoot. I think a bunch of the NFL top QBs were NOT top five picks. Mahomes. Hurts.  Josh Allen. DAK. Plenty of duds over the years.

Wentz and RG III were one heat wonders basically.  Going back further Jamarcus Russell and Ryan Leaf. I guess teams figure they can flag guys now with those social problems. Going back further Akili Smith and Tim Couch in the same draft.

Think it’s difficult to judge guys because the college passing game is all scripted for them.

Yep. Remember when Hurts was forced out of Alabama to make room for Tua? Burrow to make room for Haskins? Mahomes having to choose between Texas Tech, Rice and Houston…

Aaron Rodgers heading to the Jets per Trey Wingo.

Jimmy G. takes his talents to Las Vegas.

And Mike White to Miami.

he's going to have to play another season in Baltimore unless the Cowboys do something drastic.

I forget if McDaniel was back with BB when Jimmy G ran the scout team for the Seattle Super Bowl. They worked on the exact goal line play that led to Malcolm Butler's interception.  Supposedly Butler blew it in practice multiple times.

If Snyder weren't broke, Washington would be the perfect landing sport for a QB looking to be massively overpaid

Good for him, he earned a payday.

I wonder if someone like Bridgewater comes to DC.
