Those aren't exactly the only two options, and an owner being publicly concerned with ticket sales barely registers as "dysfunction" to me.

This is another mediocre season with a lame duck coach. We've already had an offseason of praise for new ownership. This isn't a trusting fanbase and most people don't want to hear about how great a team is after almost losing to the Broncos and then losing to the Bears. They did get their moral victory story after losing the the Eagles, but that won't last forever. I trust Sheehan and he's upfront that rating are much better when teams are good. When they are bad, stories still need to be written and there isn't much appetite for positive stories

Am I talking to a wall here?  Again, "praising the team/calling the team great" and "trying to get people upset over non-stories" are not the only two options.  There's plenty of intelligent or relatively lucid discussion to be had in between, and that's including but not limited to "the team and most of the coaching staff look like an embarrassing trash heap right now."

Trying to make a mountain out of a molehill with respect to one comment about ticket sales is just cynical click/ratings-bait bullcrap and you're lying to yourself if you think it's anything else.

Is there? Sports radio isn't the Athletic or even reddit. If they don't make mountains out of molehills no body cares.

I’ve seen fingers pointed at Del Rio and that fair but which defensive players are underperforming?

Probably can start with the four first rounders on the line

Get stomped by the Bears and then play respectable football against a 3-2 team in their own house.

Manic depressive team.  Next week they'll probably give up 50 against the sorry ass Giants.

I know the Falcons were 3-2 but they seem like a 5/6 win team.  As I said before there are not that many sure bets in the NFC for the playoffs so not out of the realm of possibilities for the Commies.

Not good, but they haven't been pushovers so far and are at least better than the sadsack Bears.

Basically, this team has had an on/off switch that alternates almost perfectly from week to week:

Week 1, Off: mostly play like crap against the Cardinals but still win because it's the Cardinals

Week 2, On: start slow, but play really well against the Broncos for about two-and-a-half quarters

Week 3: Off: Can't bother even showing up against Buffalo

Week 4, On: Play strong and take the Eagles down to the wire

Week 5, Off: Get embarrassed against the Bears

Week 6, On: Play decent football on the road against a surprisingly competent (so far) team

Watch them struggle or outright lose to the Giants, and then turn around and beat Philly in week 8.

As long as they're bad enough that Rivera gets the boot, it's all good. I'd like the offense to be good enough that Bieniemy gets the HC job.

Welp, they certainly did their best to prove me right today.

For reference: the 12 QB hits and 6 sacks by the Giants leads the league so far this week.  Even the Ravens, who just steamrolled the Lions, only registered 8 QB hits and 5 sacks.

This O-line is beyond bad.  If anything, this is maybe the biggest knock on Bieniemy so far, but it's a much greater indictment of the front office.

This gives me bad flashbacks to the Spurrier era.  Hopefully Howell doesn't become another Patrick Ramsey (sacked into oblivion in his second year in the league and had his confidence completely shattered). :?

Eric Bieniemy seems rather bad to me. Its Week 8. He should know his offensive line is crap. Yet for whatever reason, he's still calling 7 step drop backs 40 times a game

If Mahomes can do it, the Howell should be able to do it.

Howell is likely to disappear into the grass before this season is over.

See, he's setting up the defense for the 2nd half when he allows the occasional draw and roll-out. It's strategy.

We were recently in Montreal and the Commanders game happened to be on. It seemed somewhat less painful hearing it in French.

Gotta give Howell credit for keeping his composure in front of a hostile road crowd

I'm stuck in the land of mental midgets, aka Cowboys territory, so I'm only seeing game breaks on FOX, but it looks like a lot more red in the stands.

I'm guessing the DC faithful are being their usual wallflower selves?
