Gary Rossington, last surviving original member of Lynyrd Skynyrd. Somehow made it to 71.

Saw them in 2019. Was hoping to see them again.

Somewhere TribeTime is mourning on a Cleveland Guardians message board.  I assume he will not acknowledge the name change.  For Gary:

So, he was in his early 20s when they broke?  I figured he was older because they had played a ton before they were picked up.  Ronny I think was older.

Also, this is the whole original crew (minus Ed King, with Steve Gaines).  Interesting to watch Gaines play. Rossington and Collins never improvised on their early solos. Gaines clearly experimenting with this version of his solos. He was supposed to be the best musician (Billy Powell also was a real talent).

Oh, he wasn't an original, but Artemus Pyle is still kicking.

Ricky Medlocke is still with the band as well. He played drums for a bit before leaving to join Blackfoot as a guitarist. He was replaced by Pyle.

Bob Burns was the original drummer but he went a bit crazy, had a blow up on tour, and Pyle was brought in.

Yes. 4 each.  As I recall none of them were close games.

In so many sports now, I could see somebody trying a similar exploitation of a rule and getting officials to ban the change.  Literally, he completely transformed how people high jump. No one rolls over a bar facing it.

I half expect him to suit up for the next Knick game despite his injuries.

Oh man. I remember listening to Knicks games on the radio with my father... Reed was a guy he always pointed to as... well. That was a different time I guess.
